Monster Island, the Asylum’s 2019 mockbuster, came out around the same date as Godzilla King of the Monsters. The film tells the story of an island named after the island, where a monster lives.


Because the budget for this asylum film is so low (about the equivalent of a large children’s meal), they chose to shoot only a few scenes and all of the key moments with the cast's A-listers during lunch. Remember, however, that this (Monster Island (2019) movie review) is a kaiju film, and that's basically of how things go, so maybe The Asylum won't do too badly with it.
